Guests experience an unforgettable combination of Class III and IV rapids alongside calmer stretches that allow time to relax and take in the lush scenery. Wildlife sightings may include monkeys, sloths, toucans, and other tropical species along the riverbanks.

All rafting excursions require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Pricing varies depending on the operator. Select partner companies can arrange direct pickup from the lodge for added convenience.

Bird Watching

Pacuare Mountain Lodge offers exceptional birdwatching opportunities directly from the restaurant terrace or along our private trails.

The region is home to more than 360 recorded bird species, making it one of the richest biodiversity zones in Costa Rica. Guests may encounter toucans, hummingbirds, trogons, and the rare King Vulture, with a wingspan reaching up to 6.5 feet (2 meters), soaring high above the rainforest canopy.

Whether you are an avid birder or a casual observer, every moment brings something new to discover.
